We can use my home for a check in point all weekend - perhaps people arriving on Friday will drop over in the evening.
Saturday I have arranged a private visit to Rundlewood Gardens - a small garden centre in a gorgeous backyard .
I am also going to arrange a private visit to an unusual yard a couple of blocks from my home which has been featured in gardening magazines.Either Saturday before supper or Sunday morning.
There are some interesting public gardens to visit and a number of good greenhouses for shopping!
I will prepare a list for everybody.
Saturday evening will be a pot luck supper at my house.(I'll provide most of the 'pots' )
If anybody is bringing plants to share please post on this list.

Hi It's Ann here. Lynn and I are off to Chelsea in a day so we might not be able to participate right away but don't count us out.
I have some babies I have left in the garden to see how they do while I am gone and will list when I come back.
I am sooo excited ..... and we will share all our stories at the RU, excited about that too!
Talk to you later.
Ann
Oh yes I forgot that - you will have to tell us all about it after supper on Saturday night!
Last RU was a presentation on Brugs (which I had to miss) Rats. Am certainly not going to miss Chelsea.

I would like to be a part of some of the RU but am attending my daughter's graduation in Boston that week. I get home Saturday night. Can I attend the Sunday events? Do I need to register?
As far as plants to share, are you interested in only perennials or do you want any annuals (I started too many of some things)?
Theresa
Theresa: nothing special planned for Sunday yet. Since I was not sure when people were arriving or leaving I scheduled the two planned events for Saturday morning and Saturday evening.
No idea who is coming - maybe we need to have a breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning. Otherwise people are free to visit public gardens and shop!
When do you get home on Saturday?

There's always Paramount Orchids for the orchid enthusiast - it's not too far from your place Carol...
:)
Joanne
Edited to say - Paramount is open Sat & Sun afternoons for retail.

Thanks for that suggestion Joanne - I forgot about them!
My list has for Public Gardens :Reader Rock Garden, Devonian, Zoo, Lougheed House,
For greenhouses: Sunnyside,Greengate, Spruce it Up ,Rundlewood( which I have arranged to visit on Saturday morning when they are not open) and now Paramount Orchids, Edwards is out that way too I think?
Any local folks have any more suggestions please pass them on to me!
Edwards Garden is at 60 Bowridge Dr. NW. There's also Country Gardens & Nursery, not that far from Paramount Orchids. 24308 Lower Springbank Road, Telephone: 403-246-0611.
Also, if anyone is interested in checking out something a little further out of town, I was at a 'mom & pop' style nursery called W.I.S Perennials near Madden/Crossfield last week. The proprietors are Vern & Iris Spangenberg. Phone: 403.946.5442. They will also do private tours and luncheons for small groups. Iris grows lots of unusal perennials from seed. She also makes awesome cheese cake!
I was at Rundle Wood on the weekend for the first time ever - what a treat!! You guys will love it, I'm sure.
Joanne
Thanks Jo.
.
Ive gone by Country Gardens many times but never stopped in. I understand they are mostly annuals?
The Hort Office asked me about WIS Perennials a few months ago but I didnt know anything. I will check out their hours.

I get home Saturday night on a 6 pm flight. Having just come from Chicago on Monday, I know this is a nice theory. IF things are on time I could stop by the potluck. A Sunday brunch is perfect for me. Have been to Country gardens many times. (I know the owners). Unusual annuals is the emphasis, a few perennials. I REALLY LOVE Edwards. It is in my neighborhood and thier new location is beautiful, not far from COP. But I am up for anything.
Theresa
I meant to also ask : is the Saskatoon Farm too far afield? I find that place pretty interesting too.
Theresa
Saskatoon Farm is about 1/2 hour south of my place.I will put it on the list of places to go.
Nobody wants/needs any plant swopping for the RU? Can't believe it.
