I have been trying to locate a Chaconia/Pride of Trinidad, Warscewiczia coccinea. Anyone know where I can find one?
Thanks-
david
Warscewiczia coccinea
Here's the correct spelling, that may help in searching: Warszewiczia
Plant Files lists it as having a synonym of Mussaenda coccinea, which I just ordered from Almost Eden. But their picture doesn't look quite like the pic in Plant Files so I don't know if their plant is maybe labelled wrong, or maybe Mussaenda coccinea is not really the same plant and PF is incorrect. Here's the link to their plant, it's not loading for me this morning but maybe it'll work for you

The M. coccinea you linked to is a plant I already have, they are awesome. Mussaenda coccinea is now a synonym for Warszewicia. Very similiar is many ways, big red bracts, small yellow flowers. Another common name for is False Poinsettia, again because of the similarities in flowering.
So if you already have that one, is it a different one that you're looking for?
Yes, I am looking for the W. coccinea. I have the M. coccinea, an older name, now synonym, for the Warszewicia.
Maybe I'm confused--if you have M. coccinea and it's a synonym for W. coccinea, doesn't that mean you already have it?
That confused me too.
The confusion has to do with changing binomials.
The plant at Almost Eden that you purchased, it's correct name is Mussaenda coccinea. Mussaenda coccinea was at one time a name used for the plant I am trying to located. The correct name for that plant today is Warszewiczia coccinea, changed due to some changesin classification criteria, so the older name of Mussaenda coccinea is no longer correct & is listed as a synonym.
