Nothing I can find anywhere states what the sun requirements are for Ashva.
I'm making myself a spreadsheet of the plants I like in preparation for planning my entire backyard (it's completely empty right now), so I can sort by sun requirements, height, color, etc. (I know, I'm AR). And that one plant doesn't appear in the DG database and all the other online sources I've found just curiously omit that detail for Ashva.
Does anyone here know?

Ashva sun requirements
Regardless the cultivar of clematis..living in Texas and moreso you with a warmer zone than me..remember clematis like for their roots to stay moist...so an area that will provide that is key unless you will be vigilent on watering them..Mine are in Morning sun and part sun...Jeanne
Well, I take all the "full sun" listings with a grain of salt and figure that most of those really need some relief from our super-hot Texas sun. But, it still tells me which ones need more vs. less, you know?
Thanks!
Valerie
I look at it like this..they are similar to roses with their sun needs so 6-8 hours is good..6-8 hours morning sun is much better than 6-8 afternoon sun..Don't get me wrong Valerie..I do have some in afternoon sun but I water the Heck outta them especially during summer..some varieties like my Clematis "William Kennett" gets brown-out on his leaves during summer....I am just north of you on Lake Conroe...Jeanne
So do you give all Clematis similar amounts of sun, regardless of what the cultivar says it needs? That would certainly make it easy......
You can't go wrong IMHO thinking that way....Jeanne
