My Plumie is Naked; Is This Unusual???

Portland, TX(Zone 9a)

Is it unusual for my plumie to be blooming already when it looks like a naked stick??? You can just barely see the leaves starting to come alive yet I have blooms. This has never happened before. It usually always has big ole leaves and such before it starts blooming.

PHughes,
Not unusual at all.The inflo was started just before the plant went dormant last fall.So naturally upon awakening this year it's putting it's energy into finishing what it started last year. And I must say it's real pretty and I can just imagine what it smells like,a nice spring present for you. I have a plumeria that has 13 infows and no leaves, None of the blooms has opened, but it shouldn't be too long.

sounds like fun jose!

It looks like you have Lemon Chiffon there and a lot of plumeria will bloom before they get leaves; I actually really like that look because the blooms really stand out. MMMMM I can almost smell it....

Oh thanks everyone. It is a very nice smelling plumie. It's just been slow in "getting dressed" this spring.
