Paint suggestion

Brandon, FL(Zone 9a)

I have two picnic tables (freebies) I want to paint white. One is bare wood and the other had redwood stain on it. I want to be sure that the paint I use does not get "chalky" later. I have dark green metal chairs that look like the old fan back style, they are now a dark green. I want to spray paint them a lime green. I didn't see any spray paint even close to what I want at Home Depot. After I paint the tables, my stepson is going to "paint-up" the tables for me with butterflies, frogs, turtles, dragonflies, ladybugs, oranges, strawberries, watermelons, vines, palms, etc....what paint should I buy for him to paint over the table paint with?
I'll try to find a pic of the tables and chairs.
Thanks for your suggestions ( My DH thinks I'm nuts for this) however last night as we were dragging the sprinkler all over the place ( and our yard is huge) because it hasn't rained here in months, he said " the yard looks beautiful, sweetheart" It will look better with the tables and chairs painted!
I hope you can see the table and chairs in this pic.
