This is a picture of the mom bird that nested in our tarp garage. I haven't looked in my bird books yet to find out what she is - so if you know I'd love to hear from you!
But, the big problem is that my cat found her on Monday afternoon. We were able to convince the cat to let her out of his mouth (screaming helped) and mom bird did fly away. Although she has not returned to her nest with five eggs. I believe the eggs have been there for 2-3 weeks, so I would think they're close to hatching, but don't really know.
I feel like a horrible person by just letting them sit there unattended. Does anyone know of an animal/bird rescue center between Boston or Worcester, MA that would take the eggs and hatch them? I'd love to be able to hatch them myself, but I'm out of the house at work from 7am-6pm everyday and I don't think my boss would appreciate it if I brought baby birds with me.
Any advice is much appreciated!!
Mom left her eggs, what do I do?
