My Buddleia is blooming today and guess who came to nectar? Some in pairs! Lovebugs!!! Maybe this explains why they are attracted to light/white areas. Perhaps they are looking for white nectar plants. I don't know if other states get these bugs, but they are sure making a mess of the front of my van! Ugh! They only live about a week (like the Luna moths) to mate and lay their eggs. Other than feed birds and maybe bats, I don't know what their purpose is. The Lizards and Anoles don't seem to like eating them.
