What's up with my Congo Green Philo?

Lexington, SC(Zone 8a)

Any clue what would cause the leaf do to this? Do I need to fertilize it, or is something else wrong? I haven't noticed any bugs on it, but another philo hybrid I have did have Spider mites. This plant may have had them for a short spell as well before I sprayed them and I never noticed. But I've never seen mite damage like this.

I have a new leaf coming up on another stalk that I think is going to look similar. Any ideas?

Any chance that it was lacking water while those leaves were developing?

Possibly, but I'm pretty sure it was well watered. I do seem to remember cutting back the water though, bc my Imperial Green didn't seem to like it when I gave them too much water. I naturally assumed the Congo would behave the same. My Imperial leaves looked almost waterlogged. Perhaps it was something else entirely, I am not sure. I've never grown hybrids before.

They have been planted for perhaps 3 months now in those pots. When I first planted them I soaked them in pretty well, and then watered once the soil looked dry on the top. So maybe it was the lack of water. How do these hybrids handle water? Was I just being paranoid with the Imperial or do they really not like to be in wet soil? I know some philos I have love wet soil, but some equally hate it.

Thanks

Anyone else have ideas? The latest leaf also looks like it might turn out like this. I cannot figure out what the problem is for the life of me.

Have you tried posting your ? on the Aroids forum?

Any of mine that have ever done such a thing has usually been from underwatering while the leaf was developing, or low humidity, but I don't think this one is fussy about humidity.

I'm betting someone on that forum might have more ideas/info.
Good luck!

John,
I will not worry , it happens to a lot of my young philos and after a leaf
or two it goes back to normal.
To me is some sort of aberration and I have no answer.
Armando
