any idea what would cause Joey to suddenly, starting yesterday, to hang his tongue out of his mouth again? He's acting completely normal, eating fine, just tongue is back out, same side it originally was. The only thing that's changed is we started a new round of antibiotic shots on Friday for infected belly button and dipping it a couple times a day now. He's MUCH stronger than he was the first 3 days he was home and we gave him shots. Couldn't even get one in him this morning. Good thing my vet is coming today as I need her to give it and show us how to do so safely. He's just getting too strong for us to hold securely enough to actually stick a needle into. You wouldn't believe the bruises I'm covered with just from giving shots this weekend.
Bad news on Allie. My vet just called as I was typing this. The culture on her infection came back and she has a staph and a bac-something or nother and the antibiotic we are using won't work on it and the one she was on should but didn't so are now switching to yet another one she hasn't been on yet but it's $100/day and still no guarantees but it's her best chance at fighting this. Her external suture line is giving slowly. Vet said infection is the biggest complication and main reason they don't like to do c-sections.
