My vacuum cleaner beheaded my hoya....

Yes, it's true! The vacuum cleaner had it in for my Multiflora today. The cord to my blinds got sucked up into the vacuum and then got caught on my Multiflora....of course it HAD to get caught on one of my umbels that was JUST about to open. Well, I have 2 more umbels that are pretty close to opening, so my depression only lasted about an hour.

Here's a pic of the leaf that was chopped in half, some beheaded buds (that were in the process of opening), and the buds that came off in one piece. I couldn't throw them out, so I have them sitting in water....it would be a miracle, but one can at least hope :-)

Hey, it's like that at my house right about now....dirty house, but lots of blooms.....*can* we really have *both*? LOL!!

Sorry to hear about that, Gabi....I must say it's happened to me before, too.
I'll often use the shopvac to vacuum the windowsills where spent blooms/dried leaves, etc...have fallen, and more often than not, that 'sucker' (pardon the pun, lol!) will suck up a few leaves of something or other, and shred them!

Glad to hear there are a couple more umbels.

A DG friend sent me a big plaque that has to be my most favorite thing in the house!!!! It says:
Life is a choice:
1. clean house
2. plant plants
See ya in the garden!

One of my good friends has had a sign hanging on the wall in the kitchen for years that says:
Cleaning house makes you ugly!!!

LOL!!! I *need* both of those signs!!
Maybe I'll have to make them myself!

Then, at least, people might begin to understand, lol!!!
