weird fecal sac question

Kingsport, TN(Zone 6b)

There is one bird - a grackle no less - that keeps putting fecal sacs in the bird baths in my yard. None of the other birds in the neighborhood does this. I have been cleaning the water bowls out 3 to four times a day when I am home. Does anyone know why this grackle is doing this? It just seems so odd to me as I have never noticed this kind of behaviour before.

Go here and read; weird but interesting.

I thought I was losing my mind when I tried to explain to my husband what that darn bird was doing! (Well, maybe HE thought I was losing my mind!) I was sure the bird was waiting for me to empty the bird bath then here it came again with another sack-o-poo! Turns out, I was probably right!

Thanks for sharing the article. Inquiring minds need to know!

I found a solution to this - an odd one, but it has worked. Cast iron ant - lol - my son put it in there and it it has sure kept them out of it. Too funny!!!
