Joanne

Gail: I just logged on to check email and got yours with your photo's .... Ooooooh they are all so Beautiful! You are looking more and more like a Pro to me, every day! And, You KNOW I will be eventually asking for a couple of leaves! Oh, What Beauties! I will be going back and looking at those pic's again and again!
Oh, the blooms on my Chirita 'Diane Marie' are just about to open! I was hoping they would do so before we leave next Saturday for vacation!
Lin, I am so overwhelmed with plants I don't know how to take care of yet..................isn't she a winner!!!! I have never grown episcias in a bowl and don't know how to water them. This one is really dry ............if someone knows what to do, please tell me....
PS....I cheated as these are the ones I got at the fantastic av sale in Corpus christi.......wish I could say I grew them.
I would put a piece of plastic wrap over the top and let them get their own moisture. Just watch to make sure not too much moisture is building up inside the glass. If it looks too moist, just vent it for awhile. What type of location are you keeping the jar in? If it's completely closed up, you wouldn't want it directly under the lights I don't think ... but, I'm not really sure. My stuff that's planted in jars with lids, I don't put under the grow lights. Hopefully someone will come along and be able to tell about watering these ... they are really so cute! I have a couple of Episcia's I've gotten in trades and I love them. None blooming yet, but I just love the leaves! I've been thinking about planting one in a terrarium ... maybe when I get back from vacation!
the bowl is sitting under the gro-lights but I did take the cellophane off....I will place it elsewhere and put the top back on....thanks..
