Imagine the Shark song, "Jaws" in your head ..............
It's Campsis radicans ........... !!!!
I can honestly say I did not lose any plants at all this winter. Many looked dead and did die to the ground ...... but they were busy UNDER ground.
This vine is going to be dug up and put in a pot pronto!!!! Eeeeeekkkkkk!!!
It's BACK..............
Hee,Hee,Hee! I totally relate Becky! Happy mama's day!

Let me tell you ........
I dug this plant up a few weeks ago! Do NOT ever plant them in the ground!
I have never seen a plant with such thick, strong, and deep roots in my life!!! And this growth was all in only 1 year. Scary. I dug down to almost 4 ft to get the long thick roots out. It had roots that were spread out ALL over the place! I don't believe I was able to get them all. So ..... now I am worried. I've heard they can come back with a vengence if you don't get them completely. I did transplant it into a large pot. And .... of course..... it is doing well.
I'll post a photo later.
Becky-

Heh heh...but you have to admit the hummingbirds love it.
Odd thing, the neighbor has one but I've never been able to get the seeds to sprout. Finally gave up and tossed a gob of seeds out into the back fields at the ranch...time will tell. Hopefully all the field mice didn't eat them!
Earlier this year I tossed a bunch of mixed seeds out there...several were scarlet runner bean seeds...as I was driving back around the pasture I saw a little field mouse sitting in the middle of the road nibbling on a bean! UGH!!!
I should've gotten the tractor out and plowed some land but didn't feel like going through all that.
