I'm looking for Tiger Lilies to add to my southeastern NC garden. (From what I'm reading, the bulbets may be the best way to go!) Any color would be appreciated. I'm having a hard time finding them locally. Thank you!
CLOSED: Does anyone have Tiger lilies to give away?
I think I could dig some up. I have orange ones.
That would be great, pepper23! How would you like to handle my paying for the shipping? How do you normally ship them?
Normally I ship plants in small boxes unless I can safely send them in an envelope. I will get back with you on payment when I dig them up. Hopefully tomorrow I will remember to dig a few up.
thats sure a beautiful picture..
Is it best to cut off the top growth before shipping or replanting the bulb? (Down here, the asiatic lilies are already coming up and blooming.) About how deep should the tiger lilies be planted?
Just plant them about hand deep or the blade of the trowel deep. It's not too deep and not so close to the surface either. I will have to cut the growth on mine back unless I get a bulb that is under the ones on top then we won't have to worry about it.
Hope43-
I included the photo on this thread so that people would know exactly what kind of lily I was looking for. I found the it, along with others, listed on the results page for a "Tiger Lily" search on this website. It's listed there as being from "Jan_M", and I assumed that when I cut and pasted it onto this thread, it would retain the original copywright. It didn't. (Can you tell I'm new at this? Talk about embarrassing!...)
LOL. Live and learn. It happens and I don't think Jan will be upset since you mentioned it was her photo.
I hope she won't mind. (I already zapped her a D-mail apologizing for my mistake.) Is there a way to use a photo from this site and keep the copywright on it? (The original copywright, that is!)
I have no idea. LOL
Marth Moye I have bulblets of tiger lilies if you still need some They are spreading all over and Ive been throwing them away. Im not sure what color they are but if you want some I can send them after they blossom If you are over run with orange. I had some yellow but I cant remember whats what. Ronna
If any of those orange bulbettes are still available, I would be happy to pay for shipping. My grandmother grew these and I've always wanted some.
I have morning glory seeds (mixed colors) and hyacynth bean seeds, white and purple to trade if you prefer.
Thank you!
