New Braunfels visit

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

This little guy kept burying himself in the jasmine all day, so i could catch him with his wings open.
Picture to follow of what he was eating.

He actually stayed around for a couple of days nestled in this trellis of jasmine..

I will show you some more pictures.....I went to my oldest daughter's home to see the grands....what amazes me is that she hates the yard. Her husband who works over 60 hours a week fixes their yard on the weekend (after all the volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc) He doesn't even have any lawn help of any kind. He built their patio with two levels and put in 4 waterfalls!!!! Do ya think I like my son in law!!!
This is another trellis he built along the driveway.

They are in zone 8a so the wisteria hasn't taken off yet.

He took this giant boulder he brought in and put two spouts of water running down among tropicals.

That is so pretty! I really like the trellises. It looks all natural:) I bet you love your son-in-law:LOL: Sounds like he is a busy guy. What does your daughter hate about the yard?

We cross posted, but that is my absolute favorite type of water feature!!! I love the boulders with water running from them!

He put 3 boulders in the middle of the second level of patio.....so soothing to sit outside at their house.
******* I know this is the wrong forum to be posting this, but since you liked the jasmine, I got a little carried away!!!!!!!

They have a really good marriage, but he uses yard work as therapy from a high stress job. She is the most organized and tidiest person I know.............consequently their 3 children are the same way......she loves to be outside and is very athletic but she just lets her husband work in the yard unless he asks for help. She scrapbooks, totally involved with her children's classrooms and even coaches volleyball for them. She also does tons of volunteer work in town.
I suppose that all my children turned out to be extremely tidy and organized because I am NOT!!!!! I have always just flown by the seat of my pants (LOL)
It wouldn't tickle the family so much that she hates to cook and garden......those have always been the two things I loved most. She is 38 and her husband says the reason she doesn't cook is because I never taught her or made her cook growing up.

I think its great that they have their own interests separately. It is probably that personal space that helps them stay together. I've had a couple of friends who decided to be in a conjoined (yup-practically simese) marriage and they never got a break from each other. Wasn't the best marriage I've ever seen:LOL:

I cook, garden and read to relax. Crafts seem like another job-have to finish your project! A garden is never done, new recipes to try or old ones to perfect and share and books take me away, well, at least in my head=)

I think there is a balance in the world of cooks and non-cooks so all of the cooks have someone to cook for--you just have to find them if they aren't related to you ;)

You are funny!!!!! It doesn't help her to cook as her husband got his undergraduate degree in restaurant management and is a fabulous cook!!!! I think she must brag on him a lot (LOL)

That just proves my theory! You cooked for her, then she as a non-cook went and found a cook to marry. The circle of life:LOL:
