I bought them at the farmers market and planted them last year. Anyone know their proper name? They seem well mannered and hope they are not invasive.
I'm in zone 9.
Name pf my black EE?
ss,

That kind of EE is not invasive in my limited experience. I see it at the garden centers some times. I have a tiny yard so I have to keep mine in pots. I used to have about 10 different kinds but I have cut it back to 2. I change the plants I have in pots every now and again so I can try new plants that I find.
A couple years ago I was collecting EE's, now I am trying agapanthus Here is one plant that I paid too much for, but, the flowers are very nice, just like the photo http://www.plantdelights.com/Catalog/Current/Detail/06390.html
its an illustris-a colocasia
SS: I have a Colocasia illustris. It is just coming back from winter and at it's base, it has "spread" but only about - 3".
At this rate, it will become invasive in another 10 years or so. :) Not to worry!
(Yours is beautiful, by the way.)

Wow! I never knew they had so many EE! Sure hope my giant bulb decides to grow. Thanks for the info.
I have grown these for several years, and they do spread, but I don't mind.
I love the foliage, besides, they are perfect for trading!!!!
