Is it way too late to save, or is there anything I can do...vitamins...extra water...hormones...ANYTHING?

Bunnies ate my Dwarf Cavendish...down to the soil level..
Dome Builder,
I would double the water, if you give it an inch a week, give it two inches. Try and let the soil dry some between waterings, that shouldn't be too hard to do in the desert. Also surround the old base with a layer of composted cow manure about 2" deep X 2' out from the base (be generous) and add a fence about 3' tall. Bananas are a type of grass, it should recover, slowly.
Thanks everyone...I'm doubling the water and adding manure.....also talking sweetly to her...She is about a year old....a pup herself at that time.

At least you don't have gophers.. they like to eat bananas from the inside out, gobling up the entire root first, then hollowing out the 'trunk' until the entire thing collapses into a 'puddle' in the big hole in the ground... and they don't ever grow back from that. Sigh.
Thank you Dale. I had forgotten to mention that she is in a 5-6 gallon container...but the information worked just as well. The baby is already about 2 inches tall!! in about a day and a half!! I'll cut back on the water now and move her to a protected area on my porch. What is that amazing looking cactus type plant?
Note for Palmbob...I don't have gophers but I do have chipmunks and red tail squirrels and kangaroo rats in addition to cotton tails and jack rabbits and Javelinas..a real zoo here. It's amazing that the bunny got to my banana first...I know she did it because I saw her munching....I thought I had the wildlife fooled...but I guess I was wrong. I do a lot of container gardening because the winter can give us a few freezes and the summers give us a few months of scorching days. I move my tender plants a lot...as the weather and the wildlife requires. Now I'll be even more watchful.
Note for Caleb: That's a gorgeous photo of the water droplets on that leaf...Thanks for sharing.
Margaret
