I bought a berry bush from an online nursery last spring but I lost the label and I have no idea what it is- Anyone have any ideas? This is the 2nd year its in the ground.
Can anyone identify this berry bush
Don't know, but my first guess would be raspberry, although a thornless blackberry is possible,
Farmer- the shrub has alot of thorns
Looks just like the blackberries I have...
Farmerdill is right. It's either a blackberry or raspberry. I don't know of a way to tell them apart until the berries come in, however.
My guess is blackberry of some kind. Does it have a tendancy to trail? It might need a trellis. The raspberries I have (red) have a different type of leaves and grow single upright stems that don't branch.
Just saw your question. It is definitely a raspberry
RED
I'm guessing raspberry. If you cut back the top at about 3 to 4 feet they will start to bush out instead of climbing everywhere making it much easier to pick. I have many thornless blackberries but they do not have the bright colored stems that your pic shows.
