Oh My Goodness MrsBonnie: What Beautiful Plants You Have! Where do you find this Ultra Growth you referred to? Is it a Special Food for Gesneriads, or what? Wow! Your plants are so healthy and Blooming Beauties! I've just got to try that Ultra Growth if I can find it!
Great Growin!
Lin
p.s. You wick your Strep's too just like AV's?
Oh Shoot ... We are going to be in the Smokey Mountains from May 19-24th ... how long are you going to be in New Smyrna Beach? Yes, NSB is very close to us!
I grow a lot of house plants, some AV's and am just getting into other Gesneriad's like Chirita's (I have 8 of them), Episcia's (I've gotten 3 or 4 in trades) and Strep's (I've gotten a couple of these in trades too)! I am really loving the Chirita's ... they seem so easy! I have a teeny little Sinningia pusilla that I got from another DG'er ... it's sooooo tiny, but so cute. It has a little bloom stalk on it now and I can't wait for it to open again. It had a flower on it when I received it a couple of weeks ago, but the flower fell off when I was opening the packaging. I got some Sinningia seed from the recent AV leaf swap. The seed is for micro mini sinningia sp. Rio das Pedras. I haven't sowed it yet, figured I would wait til we return from vacation! I hope I can do well with the micro mini's, I have had trouble in the past with real teeny plants, but I'm gonna try my best. At some time I want to try and find some of the larger forms of Sinningia's. Someone posted a photo on DG at one time of one called 'Freckles' that was sooo pretty. I wrote down the name so I would remember it, but haven't gone searching for one yet! I really need to get organized ... I have acquired so many AV's that I'm running out of space!
You say you are going to be a distributor of Ultra Growth ... do you have a nursery business? I am going to that web site you mentioned above to read about the ultra growth stuff.

I can't wait to try it! I see that it originated in Canada. Since MrsBonnie is going to be a distributor in the U.S. I will purchase it from her! Website said it's a combination of humus and minerals so can be used along with your regular fertilizer!
MrsBonnie, I am interested in trying it too, so let us know when you have it available. : )

good news, mrsbonnie!!
Wow, they look very healthy. Your plants look beautiful.
MrsBonnie: Will you be posting in the DG Classified's when it's available?
I have been using UltraGrowth for just over a month and I have noticed a great difference. I love it!!!
Ccino or mrsbonnie....Please give specific details on how you apply ultragrowth, how often, etc.
Is is applied as a foliar application along with your regular fertilizer program? Please s-p-e-l--l it out for me. I am trying to understand this product more clearly.
you use 1/2 oz. of ug per gallon of water.i make sure my water is warm & then foliar spray all the leaves.this is a plant stimulant.i also dip all my cuttings into the mix of diluted ultra growth.also use when i transplant.i spray twice a week.where is the classifieds?
mrsbonnie
mrsbonnie, I'm trying to understand this product also. Does it have to be used as a foliar spray or can you use it instead of regular fertilizer or do you always have to use both? What type of fertilizer do you water with? Seems a foliar alone spray would only stimulate the leaves without stimulating the root system. Please explain how this works. And, how does this one differ from the VF-11. I tried that one and my plants suffered through it until I went back to regular fertilizer. Please give us a little more information on UG's ingredients.
Classifieds are on the Garden Talk page under Dave's Garden Community
I am using the concentrated vial. You just hang it inside the watering can. Supposed to last for up to 10 years. I water with it every watering. Once a month I do not use it, just plain water.
Morning Bonnie,
Well I am just delighted to hear you are going to be distributing it!!! Your plants look so lovely and healthy!
UG should NOT BE mixed with any other fertilizer....it is meant to be used alone. What I do is water with UG.... I put a tablespoon of the plant food into a five gallon pail and water with that....I also foliar feed with the vial solution in distilled water and that does not water stain the leaves. I use a very fine mist.
I took six Toronto Belle leaves and put them into the vial solution only and I had every single leaf take and TB are very hard to propagate. I put seven leaves down in the fall and ony four took and it took months!!!
Within a month I had babies on a strep leaf! This is a wonderful product!
The difference between UG Plant Food and the vial is....the vial opens up the pores and the UG Plant Food is exactly that.....there is a minute amount of the vial solution included in the UG Plant Food.
I have also been using the vial solution on all my transplants and have had excellent results!
Your regular fertilizer would be used the following week by itself and applied at 50-75 % less than you normally would. So alternate but DO NOT MIX them together.
I have been using this product since Feb 1, 2007 and the flower sizes, amount of flowers, and the color is more intense on the flowers. I have also noticed the leaves get a sheen to them as well.
Bonnie what size are you selling for 14.00? I thought the least expensive was 30.00 Canadian.
Thanks for sharing the photos and for taking on the job of being a distributor!!!
