My lucky day!

Hi Everyone,
Yesterday was my Birthday and it turned out to be a lucky day for my ever expanding violet collection. I met a very nice lady in a local gardening group and she shared some of her violet babies and leaves with me. She was very generous and many of the pots had 2 to 4 babies in them. So that means I will have some extras to trade in a month or so. I repotted everything and started the leaves.

Hey nothing wrong with NOIDS they're great fun to grow too!
I have tons & still can't resist those Walmart finds even though I have many registered violets.

That is true,plant people are sooo generous.. Everyone is so willing to share their info and plants with all of us newbies. I'm looking forward to doing that myself when I know more about it. :)
I can't wait till these get big enough to bloom, I looked up the pictures at avs and wow they are beauties.
I do still like my noids too and you're right everytime I go to Walmart to get more pots I always have to see if they have more violets. I suspect they will be getting new shipments this week for Mothers day. I better go check.
Now I just have to figure out where to put them all :)

Well, I finally got everything all potted up. The thing I am most excited about is I should be able to have a trade list in a month or so. I can't wait to trade plants with you guys.

Hi Gail,
These actually were a gift from a very nice lady I just recently met online.She loves violets , I love violets. I needed to make room for more avs so I sent her my little cactus from my kitchen window. She sent me all these little av babies and leaves. I love garden friends! I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and I recently started an online garden group just for our area. I've met some wonderful people. In a couple of weeks we are getting together to do a garden swap, plants, seeds, books, garden decorations. It should be fun :)

Yepper! I just got a box today from velvet leaf with about 30 leaves. I hope to have violets coming out of my ears by fall, lol

They are the best plants I have ever received!!!
Unfortunately I also unloaded a big order of begonias and coleus from a baaaaaaad vendor....
I think I am going to get brave enough, Sue to start ordering leaves for avs.....
Trading plants is the most fun thing that happens on DG !!!!!
