cardinal family

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I got the privilege this year of observing a family of cardinals in my greenhouse. They made a nest in one of my pots and raised three young ones. Today when I got home, they were working to get the babies to leave the nest. There was lots of chirping going on as one by one they got up the courage to fly for the first time. It was such a neat thing to watch. I caught a few pics of the moment. Here is a pic of the last one to leave. The first left before I got home, and the second as I went to take the pic.
