since Max (about to have a new name) is stuck inside for the time being with the goat and Maya and Lady are outside except for at night, I'm thinking I need to do some introductions with the boys.
Maya first, she's 4 weeks old tomorrow. D is my choice for putting in with Lady and Maya first as he was the first Lady let near Maya at the fence and Maya spends the most time with. Do I put him in the pasture first then let them out or put them out then let him into the pasture? What else do I need to know?
Max. The stall next to him, which was Allie's, is empty. I want to put one of the boys there a few hours a day for company. Problem is the goat. Lady is terrified of it. It spooked Allie as she walked by the stall. I have no clue how the boys will react to her. If they are afraid of her, will it do Max more bad than good to have one of them next to him? If not, then who? D hates to be stalled otherwise he would be my choice, however, having the colt next to him may make a difference. However, D is also a bit, shall we say, high strung? He rules the pasture, but is also the first to jump out of his shoes if you say boo. Thump got VERY worked up when he saw Maya and that was two stalls down. He was in the stall Max is in now and Lady and Maya's stall is separated from his by Allie's empty stall. If I put Thump there and he's just excited to see Max, will that be bad? No clue how he will react to Baby, but he is the closest to what I would call bomb proof here. Buddy is just the "dumb-bee-dumb" old man and not sure he would react to either Max or Baby but again, not sure. Problem is he's a pain in the rump to catch and really don't have the time or energy these days to bother messing with him, especially on a daily basis.
