Please help identify
One of the many Tillandsias, the ultimate air plants (not my speciality). Take a look here http://fcbs.org/ then go to the Photo Index and look through the Tillandsias. You will see that there are many similar ones.
As for propagation, as you can see you have multiple plants (that all started from a single). When they bloom, Tillandsias send out offsets (though they are less generous than most other Bromeliads). You can separate the clump but I must say it looks great just the way it is. (You can always just remove one or two of the individual plantlets too.) Just gently pry them apart.
