I hope you are all not fed up with my photos ! This first one is a "palapa" umbrella that I got in our local London Drugs. - I couldn't resist it for my tropical spot in the garden ! My DH took this photo as I brought it out of the car. He says I have finally gone over the top ! (He also says if I stopped spending money he could retire !)

This is a tree peony that I thought I had lost but it has one, just the one, bloom on it !

This is the seating area in the tropical bed, I have put houseplants in it and so far so good.

My new bed is filling in nicely with the $6.99 hostas I purchased from Home Depot. But then I splurged on a Tasmanian Tree Fern which you can see at the back, against the fence.

Can you spot the blue poppy on the right - this one has came back this year and it has three buds on it . I am excited about this as I have killed a few in the past.

Great photos Heather! Very cool umbrella!

I'll see your blue poppy and raise you 2! (poker talk)

I have 2 blue poppies that have over-wintered, so I can share your enthusiasm. I can't wait to see the blooms and post them here. ;-)

Heather your garden looks wonderful. You have a little Oasis there, and I bet Ian is just as happy to have the gardens looking so good.

martagon for shade, back of hostas perhaps. Thought your palapa was a pic. of you in Mexico till I opened it up. What fun. No wind in your part of Victoria? Maybe you furl it when not in use.

Yes, I was thinking I'd be enjoying some holiday pictures too when I saw the first picture. LOL It's a great umbrella and will definitely lend your new spot a little tropical flavour. It's looking good. Canadian Tire has a whole bunch of Musa basjoos for the first time ever and I was dying to get one but I have no place to put it.

We lost our last blue poppy over the winter. I'm looking for a replacement because I love them.

Thanks for the comments !
Glenda, I got the T. Tree Fern at Gardenworks on Blenkinsop Road and it was on for $39.99 ubstead of $59.99. (I told you it was a splurge ) I thought that was a good deal and you don't often see them for sale. Now I have to make sure I keep it alive (might need to get some info from growin ! Are you out there growin ?)
Yes, Inanda we had high winds last night and the palapa tumbled a bit, I have it up most of the time as it is covering some plants that like shade.
Your betting comments were rather appropriate, Teresa, as I am off to Las Vegas on Sunday !
