polo wraps or pillow wraps & standing wraps?

If I were to provide support to poor Chewie's front legs while he fights with his abcess, should I

#1 - Put on some tendon boots like I would use for riding

#2 - Use pillow wraps & standing wraps like I sometimes use for shipping

#3 - Learn how to apply the polo wraps I just got

#4 - Do nothing

He's in a stall & small paddock-run. No turn-out, because I've got his hoof in one of those vetwrap/duct tape boot thingies, and I know he'll tear it up out there...

If I use the wraps, should I...

#1 - Wrap top to bottom & back to middle like I've done on the standing wraps for shipping

#2 - Wrap top to bottom & back to top like I've seen in a few google searches
