I know that on occasion some of you have mentioned what camera you have. But when I want to know what some of you are using, I can't find the thread. So .............
Please tell me what you are using currently. My camera is just okay. But I want something better with a macro lens and good zoom lens. Some of you here are getting some awesome close-up shots as well as zoom shots.
Please share here with everyone what you are using and tell me what you do and don't like about your camera.
I currently have an older Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W1. It's okay. Weak zoom and no macro that I can find on this camera. It's good for point and shoot. I know Sony has better cameras out on the market now. And prices have come down considerably. So .............. tell me what you are currently using.... pretty please.
Camera suggestions ....
Becky, mine is a Canon Rebel XT, I'm still learning to use it....it's pretty amazing. When my DH and I went to the frog exhibit at the Houston museum, you couldn't use the flash. I didn't know enough about the camera to compensate so almost all my pics were blurry. :(
Now, I'm ready lol
Did you know there's a Camera and Photography Forum? You could post there too, lots of experts over there.

Rox - Well ........... DUH!!! I forgot there was a Camera and Photography Forum here in DG!!! Thanks for that link!!!
I've heard a LOT of good things about the Canon Rebel XT! :-)
I have Kodak EasyShare C340. I am still learning more about it. Works for me!
I have a Canon s3.. The macro button is on the side of the lense. It has lots of different modes, I have yet to explore. I like the camera pretty well, and I really love the PhotoStudio. I have so far learned a bit more about my settings, and when they are all cued up when the pic is taken, I rarely need to edit anything except the size and the signature. My latest pics have not needed any editing for clearity at all.
My last camera was a Canon s1, it was really good too, and you can buy a remote for it for another 20 bucks. I handed it down to my nephew.. The one before that was a Canon A60. Canon is great if you can figure out all the bells and whistles, lol!!
I could always like a better camera, lol! I will probably upgrade within the next year, depending on what comes out.
Thank y'all for letting me know what camera you are using. I'm just window shopping currently, but that could change in the near future! ;-)
Ha! Ha! I've heard that window shopping line before!!!
Will tell you I have digital cameras :o) Have an old Sony Mavica FD91 that uses 3.5 diskettes...good macro and telephoto but only 3.1 on the megapixels. Not much room to play with...but it did the job for me when I first got into butterflies.
Last April I bought a Panasonic Lumix...love it. Purchased some macro lenses for it...they do a good job. The telephoto lens I bought for it off of ebay is worthless though! This camera has a good sized LCD screen that flips out and completely rotates. Great for those hard to get butterfly shots...like hiding under leaves :o)
I still use that camera and pretty much carry it with me all the time. Use a usb port memory card that I can directly insert into any computer usb port without having to hook up wires etc.
Pre-ordered a Sony Cyber Shot DSC H9 in March and it got here last week. Am still trying to get used to the buttons. Macro is good but I need to look into purchasing some lens converters for more macro play and perhaps a telephoto too. 15x on the telephoto now...works really well. For those who wants a large LCD screen this camera has it. It's like 2 x 2.75 inches...and flips out to tilt...but alas...I can't see up close very well...so I still use the viewfinder. It also has a night mode. You can pretty much use it in total darkness...interested black/white/gray photos from that. It's very lightweight. Easily one handed shooting.
My Panasonic Lumix gets heavy after a while...the Sony H9 is extremely light!
Ah, the other digital is a pocket HP 5.1 megapixels. Good in a pinch!
If anyone has ideas for a microscope/camera attachment or good macro capable camera...do let me know. Am interested in photographing eggs and caterpillars up close and personal :o)
