What a deal!
Chick days in Conyers,Ga.
I wish I had known sooner! Im on my way to the livestock Auction in Gray today!!!
Okay , I went to the auction barn last night! I thought they would Never get to the chickens and Turkeys! It took so long!!! But finally at 9:30 they started with the eggies then the chicks! I won 4 Topknots, ( thats what the Auctioneer called them) They are the cutest little Polish and one in particular has already started to grow his " Hat"! Hes sooo cute and Gentle. The others might be Hens , No topknot yet just a bump!
I also got a pair of red Silkies! And I was so happy because when I went to check on them this morning My little lonely White Silkie was talking to them and She likes the Roo!!! Yaay!
Dang!!! They need to start that thing around 12:00
When you say won!??? You mean you outbid, but still had to pay right?
Dis you get rid of badboy BO? How much did he bring?
You gonna have a lot-o-chickens & eggs. TB
Hey Turkey! Yep, I had to pay for them! When I bid on something and I really want that item , I hang in there til I win! I wish I didnt have to Pay but I did really well! The little Welsummers I got for about 90 cents apiece. the Topknots were more but still less than ordering and paying postage. I got them for $2.oo each.
As for the items I took to sell, well lets say I did really good! I sold enough to pay for My bids!
I learned one thing for sure , People will pay any thing for Buff Orpington hens and roos! I saw the prices for grown birds go as high as $15.00 . Who would have guessed that a small investment in a tiny little chick would pay off that well!
