Bad day

Robertsville, MO

Hi everyone I have lost one of my female silkies today..
And now I have to get rid of the 2 silkies that are left...
The male silkie broke one female silkies neck by trying to mate with her..
and there was nothing a vet could do but put her down...
NB is sad and so am I..

I'm sorry Tracey. That's too bad. Is that normally something to worry about?

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Tracey Im so sorry! If I were you I would just get rid of that rooster!

Northern Michigan, MI(Zone 5a)

Are you sure the rooster did that or is it a best guess of what happened ?? Maybe the birds were startled and the hen hurt herself in a panic...ran into something etc.. ?? Is that possible ??

I'm sorry about your loss~

If I were sure it was the rooster, I would find him a new home instead of getting rid of the hens..I had this problem with turkey's before.

Thank you all I will get rid of the rooster... And just replace it with a new hen or 2 and NB said okay... But no more roosters....It was the rooster and now he is going!!! I can't have him messing with the other hens like that...
Eu, have you got that critter yet??? Julie, no it was the rooster all the others ran from the coop after they saw the girl silkie and what the rooster did and now they stay a way from him...
