I don't know where to post my question, so am starting here. For several years I had some beautiful plants called Butterfly Wand. I was out of commission last year and this year those plants have not come back. Does anyone know where I could find more? I will post a picture in a minute.
Butterfly Wand plants?
gardengram it looks like 'Guara lindheimeri' to me. It is a native here in TX.. I have also heard it called Whorling Butterflies.. I have pink and white that I got from Lowes last year. I love it too! Now that you have some more names you can call around and find it better.

Thank you, Deb. I had completely forgotten the latin name and couldn't find them anywhere. I have loved having them and don't want to be without any.
Beckygardener, is your beautiful pot of pink guara in full sun? I am wondering because of the heat you have there. That pink one is beautiful and I might have to look for one of those!
You could take some new growth now and make more plants from cuttings also... :-D and you're welcome gardengram!!
Becky, you and I seem to have the same taste in a lot of things, lol!! Not surprised ya had one too... and what a beautiful one it is!!
Worked on adding more pics to the site tonight...(I had a few more new visitors today I will post them tomorrow in the Daily thread.) They are homing in on me now, lol!!
Re: starting the guara from cuttings--I didn't know you could do that, so I certainly will give it a try. I've got to go buy a new sprinkler head today, so I will look for the plants. Thanks again.
Diane - Yes, my pink guara is in full sun. I water it daily. You are right .... it wilts but bounces right back as long as it gets enough water in the evening. Tiny little caterpillars munch down on it come summer and fall. I guess I am going to have to raise some to see what butterfly or moth they are. lol They die back quite a bit in winter. But come Spring they seem to come back twice as thick. LOL!
Deb - I don't know what I am doing wrong with cuttings, but mine never make it! I've tried different plants, too. I think it is the heat and humidity. It's so hot already here that I can only do gardening in the very early morning or very late afternoon. Cuttings die pretty quickly!
Glad to hear that many, many visitors are paying you a visit and possibly staying!!! All that work is starting to pay off. Yay!!!
