Hey Gardeners,
Here's a shot of 2 out of 3 of my Orenburg (Siberian) tomato plants which have been in the ground for about two weeks. I had to protect them with a cover for only two nights when the temps dropped below 40. My first four Orenburgs bit the dust due to the low 20's we got last month. I now know better!
Ain't got no blooms yet, but the stalks look purdy good.
The teepee is an original (if you can make it out) from tree limbs from one of our trees. Holds up good even in the 20-30 mph winds we had here in Algonac.
I have about 15 more varied tom-plants in various stages to put in the ground. I will stagger these with hopes that my crop will produce ripe toms at different intervals.
Last year was my first time at gardening and I am having one-hell-ov-a-fun-time again this year. So much so, that I increased my garden size from 15' X 15' to 46' X 35'.
IF..the fun increases this year....I'll be out of "yard" next year.
Tomatoes! Who's got the tomatoes?
Well looks like you are a real gardener..now..and bit by the bug..lol...Glad you are having fun...and it does get worst you know..
hahaha...
Smiles..Diana...
Wow, they are super looking. My poor tomatoes are so tiny in comparison.
Yeahyerright, wantabegardner! Today was a "forced" mentality to put in a row with 5 different veggies. When I get real tired, I get [very] clumsy and tripping over the water hose was a sight to behold. BUTTT...I wouldn't stop until the whole row was completed.
Thanks, hemlady, for the compliment on my toms. I checked close today and I have blooms starting to poke out on the 2 large plants. Gets me excited seeing that.
Welll....it's time to sit down and take a load off my feet.
Later!
