I have not looked at the live cam since I started the thread.

Wow, once it gets going it seems to speed up.

I started 9 small babies I bought on Ebay a couple of years ago but lost them over winter ;-((

When we are settled at our new place I want to try again.

I remember a good DG friend kept a good sized corm wrapped and boxed in the basement over winter. Early the following Spring he noticed a strange odor wafting through the house. Yup, even down there it started growing. hahahah Wonder what his DW thought ??

I would love it just to see the look on my DH's face ..... lol

It didn't open very wide before shrinking, I didn't look yesterday but I don't think it opened any further than shows.


The females look to have small red bulbs at their bases, ready to grow. I think they need pollen from a different plant to fertilise them, or are these self-fertile?
