Dete, I'm sure Florida Colors has it. That is one that I don't have and don't want because of its lack of fragrance. By the way, I have no desire to get a Mele Pa Bowman either. I've heard that it can be a poor bloomer that is susceptible to black tip. Not that you asked me...LOL!

clare i think that's because mpb is related to singapore. i haven't had black tip on mine in a while. i've seen that sp grows like a weed. it'll be good to test in the ground. i figured look and carol might have it. i haven't heard from them in a while. i thought i'd just look for a cheap cutting.

Slaughter Pink is indeed a very vigorous grower. The Texans are overrun with them so it would be smart to ask someone from the Houston area. Mine was completely sheared off at the ground by hurricane impact but has about 8 branches now from the stump and will bloom again soon!
Mele Pa Bowman and singapore have a reputation for black tip but it varies by area, I have found. It is not a poor bloomer for me, and the scen t is to die for! Not one I would want to be without.

I have several SP seedlings that are extremely vigorous growers.
One bloomed gorgeous last year.
Have a peek!

Nice bloom. I received a cutting last fall of a SP seedling... it is a large center cut cutting so I will not know for some time what it really looks like. It is growing finally so I feel secure that it does at least have roots now. It is growing and that in itself is a victory for me. All my plumies have been saturated with water twice this week with rain and then sat in water for a couple of hours ... they look OK except for the torn leaves where the hail got them... and I had them pulled 4 ft back under the porch cover!

I don't believe I am saying this... I don't need any more cuttings until I get some of these to grow and bloom for me. Every time one goes to mush I feel guilty that I may have deprived a cutting to someone else who could have kept it alive. I get excited every time I see a new leaf opening... more like claw.

Dete,
To bad i didn't see this post before I shipped the box.I would have thrown in a Slaughter Pink cutting for you.Give me a week or so.I've got a SP branch that is right in the way every time I'm dragging the hose and walking backward I bump into the SP branch.I've already taken the 2 tip cuttings and traded them away at the last round -up.But the knuckle is pushing out atleast two or maybe three new branches and in a week or so if you haven't gotten one I'll cut it off and send it to you if you'd like.LMK
Don
