Io Moth caterpillar...I think

Edinburg, TX

Woohoo...I think this is an Io Moth caterpillar. I found it on my wisteria tonight. I didn't know they ate wisteria...learn new things every day...or is that night? :o)

Cat - Oh! Those cats are so awesome looking! Keep us posted on this moth! :-)

The moth has made a nest of leaves...I believe it's turning into a cocoon inside those leaves...but I haven't taken a peek yet.

Oh good!!! Do take photos and let us see what he looks like when he becomes a moth. I have seen some of the cats at the school. But don't have any idea what they were eating. We always find them on the ground in the grass. Next time I see one, it may be another cat we raise in our classroom. The students got to watch 2 Gulf Fritillaries emerge today. Our little butterfly mama was so protective. She didn't want any of the other students to even touch the cage. Only look. LOL! She's such a good little mommy! She got to release them at the end of the day! :-) She is always keeping an eye on our garden bed, too! She finds so many butterflies and cats out there is astonishing to me! She truly loves learning about and raising them.
