This and the other 2 photos you posted as C. macromeris are most likely Cory vivipara.

thank you, I think you are right and I have asked admin to move the images to the Escobaria vivipara page.

I photographed this cactus in Madeira Canyon in southern Arizona in July 1998. I also found another cactus in flower in the same area, which I had identified as Coryphantha vivipara, which I now feel cannot be that species. The spines form a dense network almost completely hiding the surface of the stem segments.

I attach my photo of that cactus, are you able to identify it from my picture,

I would say this is also an Escobaria vivipara. Even more typically looking. This one must have grown in full sun and a very dry spot while the others (the former macromeris) seem to live in a shady rather moist place.
