I'd guess a Speckled Sussex. The chick color can vary a lot. What is the comb like?

So far only one of the girls has developed a comb and it is a regular one! Hmmmm, let me run out to the tractor and get a glamour girl close up! Thanks Zep!

it could be a speckled sussex, but it isn't quite right, I don't think. She's definitely pretty!

Im with you BYH, They have far too much white on their tummies! their coloration is close to a Brown Sussex , But I havent seen a sussex with this much white! Here is a pic from 2 weeks ago!

I suspect the white will decrease, if they're Sussex, but then, the speckled Sussex coloration is pretty variable. Did you decide what they might be?

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Zeppy , Im going to call them Speckled Sussex , until some one tells me different!!! Hows that??!!!!!!! I ordered the brown egg layer assortmnt from Meyer and I got the Ohio assortment!!! LOL!!!!!!

Hey E and Tracey,
I just wanted to pop in for a minute and say "hello" and wish all of you a terrific weekend! E, thanks SO much for tracking me down and dmailing to check in......you are a sweetheart! All is well on the farm front. Just ridiculously busy rebuilding things that the storms have torn up. I hope to finish up the new coop this weekend, and then things should slow down a little. (I hope!) Tracey, I am SO sorry to hear what happened to your silkie hen. Darn 'ole mean lovin' ROO! My word, he must be a heck of a lover! WOW! That is a great idea to let your son hatch a few eggs. It is a terrific learning process as well as FUN! Keep me posted on the eggs, k? You guys can always dmail me or email me at bkstarnes@earthlink.net, anytime. I do try to check my email every other day - - - I do my best, anyway. :-) Take care, spoil those chicks and I'll talk to you all very soon!
Belinda :)

p.s. Here is a view of my road during the last storm (Tuesday). We have had SO much rain that only a couple of inches makes things flooded again.

Robertsville, MO
