What is it?

Any guesses what this strange critter might be?

A pregnant exotic pygmy goat?

A Cocker Spaniel gone very wrong?

One of those new fancy hybrid designer type dog things?

New costume on Dancing With The Stars?

I'm sorry. I left my housecoat on the porch and it blew away in the last windstorm. I'm glad you've found it as I do enjoy the rabbit fur cuffs.

A rear view of a long-haired dog (Sheepdog) with a very strange haircut

What did you do to that poor animal, Katy!! Where is its head? The fur strongly resembles cat, but.. who knows?

Looks like a Tasmanian Weedeater to me. They're very rare and VERY pricey - rather affectionate IF they've had their share of weeds for the day. Your garden appears to be weed free so I suspect that's what you have. I've been longing for one for years, but my budget has never allowed.

(Those little feet peeking out sure look like they belong to a cat, though!)

Yes, she's a pretty good weed eater (well, grass anyway). This is KittyMoose, my Manx cat who has a very dense waterproof black undercoat that must be shaved every spring. Oddly, only the black fur is so dense she can't shed it. Hence, the wierd haircut. I guess I never realized how strange the shave looked until I saw this photo. lol

She's lovely - be sure to tell her so!!!!! We don't want her feeling embarrassed. I used to have a dear little Persian kitty who had to have a lion cut once because I hadn't kept him combed (he was like a whiny little girl when it came to being brushed). He honestly seemed mortified until I kept telling him how beautiful he was - and got other people to do it, too.

I hadn't thought about him in a long time - he was a darling.

She's so elegant, nicely complemented by the burgundy Sempervivums! I know some people who'd pay big bucks for an evening gown like that.

Tell her that her 'boots' are just the thing! She is definitely on the fashion edge!

Eureka, CA

I thought sure it was a bunny butt.... no, don't tell her I said so....

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I've been watching and I thought it was a partially sheared sheep.

I didn't even notice the shearing until the side portrait of Kittymoose was posted LOL! She is beautiful: tres elegante` Kittymoose! We are going to give the furry retriever a much needed summer cut this year, I swear. But she'll not look nearly as beautiful as KM.

tawnia, I love your explanation!

We have a persian that we cut in a similar style every Spring. He's completely unselfconscious about it (or at least, he knows he's still cool).

Larisa, pictures?

West Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Oh, I've got more pictures of my kitties than you want to see, but I'll have to get one specifically of the haircut. I'll see what I can do!
:D
