Fancy schmancy you two! Mine don't want to open up yet.

Erynne... they will. That's their job! LOL!

threegardeners - are all those pics from THIS year? If so, your garden is WAY ahead of mine. So far I have only the really early tulips blooming.

Orangeville, ON(Zone 4b)

Well, if that's their job, they'd best *up* the productivity, lol. Nah, my division one tulips are on cue if I go by last year's pics....should be blooming by the end of the week. My division three tulips follow two weeks later and the Viridifloras are dead last in May.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Oooooo. Ahhhhhh. Beauteous tulips!

Very nice tulips everyone! Some of mine are still budding, and some have not yet begun to get buds. All in good time I guess :-)

I have tulip foliage. Does that count? LOL. It's just a matter of time...patience is not one of my virtues...

I have foliage too - and lots of it won't have buds. Didn't add any new ones this year, but will next year. Most of them only last a couple of years for me, except the ones I don't really like.

North Saanich, Canada

Just a few more tulips. I have managed to keep the deer away from this year so I am very happy to have ANY at all!!!

I can't remember the name of these, but I really love the color.

Only 3 of these in my whole yard.

NO idea what this one is either, but I only have two of them, about 3 feet apart on top of a rock wall!!

By the way, I have managed to keep the deer away by spraying a mixture of milk, egg, and garlic(whipped up in the blender and left to sit until it smells really bad!!!!). It has worked on everythign this year, and the deer don't seem to come around, or else they come when I don't see them!!! I also use it on my hydrangeas which they really got into last year. Apparently they don't like smells, so this one seems to work!

Also some frittilaria!

very pretty.....nice fritillaria too, mine always grows leaves....and just leaves :((

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I have a few of mine popping up. I don't keep track of what the names are.

Three - have heart. I, just once bought some Fritillaria. It grew but never bloomed the first year. Subsequent years, just one plant came back year after year but never bloomed. Last year, after about 10 years, it finally bloomed. This year it had two strong shoots. One is blooming now. The other looks as though the buds were damaged, but after all those years, I was really surprised to have it bloom. This is a pic from last year.

Meant to say to GGD - I really like those soft yellow tulips above.

White Lake, ON(Zone 4b)

Enjoying the pics, everyone. Teresa, Calgary Flames would be a perfect name for that flaming red tulip! Do you know it's real name, by chance?

Sandy

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

Oh gosh, Sandy... I'm so bad! I plant them and toss the packaging. I REALLY should keep track of the names of my plants. Sorry.

White Lake, ON(Zone 4b)

No sweat, Teresa, there can't be many around that look like that!

Mississauga, ON(Zone 6a)

Isn't it wonderful to see the tulips. I lost mine this year and I believe it was because of the very mild start that we had to winter. I miss my 'Mickey Mouse' tulips which were a red and yellow combo - one of my favourites.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I have some blooming, but I've also had several clumps, whole clumps totally beheaded BEFORE they get a chance to bloom. Grrrr! What's the likely culprit? Squirrels, rabbits or raccoons? They also got at my seedling which were in jiffy 7 pellets and took them out of the stray, pulled off the netting and discarded the little plants to die.

North Augusta, ON

Last year the rabbits ate the tops off my newly emerging tulips....this year when I first saw sprouts, I sprinkled a handful of bloodmeal around every bunch....rabbits didn't come anywhere near them....

Orangeville, ON(Zone 4b)

Ann, I betcha it's squirrels if you're tulips are beheaded and the bud just left nearby. I *watched* a squirrel do this the other day. It seems they like to just rip apart things and then leave them without eating anything.
Funny, they don't bother my daffs at all and I think for the future I'm giving up on tulips; it's just not worth spending the money anymore.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I'll try the blood meal before I'll give up on the colour of the tulips. Besides, this is a tulip city.
