Time to start another thread.. I saw so many new bf's yesterday, and even mistook some identities, but I think I have them all down now.
I was so tired last night I just filed them to post this morning. SO they are in alphabetical order, lol.
Here goes... Are ya ready?

Wonderful photos, Deb!!! I love the Checkered White Butterfly! Very lovely she is for sure! Glad to see that they are using your Nasturtiums for a host plant, too! (The plants we least expect! lol)
I've not seen any Buckeye around here. That's one pretty butterfly!!!
Thinkin this is a Sleepy Orange... had to get some more batteries, lol.
I also saw several new male BSTs
An enormous Monarch
And a first spring Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Sorry to be so brief on each of these accounts, but you will understand I need to get outside and prepare for those hummers to come back. Plus I want to watch the oviposits,, so I will know where the cats will be.
Have a beautiful day everyone!!
Deb

IN the fourth post with the arrow it should say Cabbage White (duh)... Maybe I can get an admin to replace the pic for me, or remove that post so I can repost it with the pic properly labeled.... sorry guys!!
Deb
I wonder if I get Buckeyes here in my area. Frogfruit is a weed in my yard. It's everywhere!!! I've never seen one of those butterflies. Do they like the butterfly brew?
Wow Kim! What an outstanding shot... I'm so glad you shared that one!! Beautiful! They are really hard to photograph well. I'm still trying..LOL!
I think it's a Hummingbird Clearwing..

I agree with Deb .... NICE shot Kim!!! They are amazing little moths!!! :-)
The only reason I got such a great shot is that we had to live outside in trailers & tents in our back yard for 6 weeks last summer as our new house was being brought in and this moth came to the garden daily. It was such a blessing to watch this little guy. He came like clockwork daily and chose to visit the same flowers so once I figured out his pattern I was ready for him *lol*
Kim
Down the street from me I saw a bunch of wildflowers growing so I had to stop and take pictures, especially when I saw some of them were blanket flowers. Well, while I was there I saw a Gulf Fritillary flying around so of course I had to chase it and get a picture. Eventually, the people who lived in the house came out and asked what I was doing, but they were nice when I explained I was just taking pictures of their pretty flowers.
Mom and I are having fun watching our frit caterpillars. I just bought my passion vine (Incense) last weekend and I haven't planted it yet - I just went out and bought a trellis for it. So one of the caterpillars was getting too close to the edge of the pot and Mom was all concerned he might fall off. I assured her that they know how to climb. When I got home he was sitting on the underside of a leaf. I am a little concerned that I had four yesterday, and now I have two. Hmmm...the other one is much fatter and has climbed up the stake they put in the pot. He's been in the same spot all day - maybe he's getting ready to take the next step of his transformation?
Yeppers, Mellie! He may very well be getting prepared to morph into a chrysalis! Or he may be shedding his skin to grow into the next instar stage.
Missing two cats????? Perhaps they are hiding somewhere on your vine? They are pretty sneaky about that! lol
I have wasps really bad in my yard. As soon as I get rid of a wasp nest, seems they build 2 more. (I found more today under my lawn chair cushions again!) Wasps will kill, carry to their nest, and eat the cats. (Which is why many of us here on this forum hand raise them in cages.) Unfortunately, the cats have many predators, so many don't make it to the butterfly stage. Which is why we all like to help them along! :-)

Right-e-o Becky!!
Cool your Mom is sharing all of this with you Millie. Slowly but surely my family is easing into this butterfly world. I'm going to plant a Hercules at my DS's house where my Mom lives with her. Eventually I am going to plant a Milkweed patch too. I would like to see them have a nice Pardley patch there as well. ...In time we'll get it done.
Had a good day out there today... not near as many species visits, but a few BSTs dropped by and oviposited the Parsley, and Bronze Fennel.
Deb - Those question mark butterflies are so cooooooolllllll looking! Awesome photos!!!!
Thanks Becky!! You've been such great help and encouragment all these months..couldn't have done it without ya!
Here's another pic of HE at his post in the back on a leaf. When another butterfly comes through he chases it around and comes back to light there on the leaf.. Bossy little thing. His name had evidently given him a vigilent ruler mentality, lol!
