I started the new chick house on Thursday and finished it Friday. It's 2x2x8. They spent their first night in the garage last night. They are a bit jerky right now if they don't hear us coming. They spent their first four days in our living room where it was not quiet.
My chicks and their new accomodations!
OH, what about those two copper colored ones on the bottom left of the picture above? Those two are my 3 year olds.
One kid claimed all the silkies and one claimed all the ones that look like chipmunks. One kid claimed the speckled one and the all black ones. I think one kid claimed all the yellow ones and the last kid claimed the black ones with the white stripes. LOL See why I need so many??
What do I get?? I get the pleasure of buying all the stuff and the resulting poo!
Oh, I think I was right about their other box being way too small. They are staying out of the water now. :)
Here's a picture from the far end.
Heeellloooooo down there!
They're gorgeous, Badseed. Where did you get all those pretty babies?
Both www.feathersite.com and the McMurray catalog have photos of chicks per breed if you want to try to figure out what is what.
Thanks for the chick flicks :) They just get cuter every day !!!!
Sorry I can't help with the ID's, but you seem to have things well in hand :)
Dea
Hi Dea! It's so nice to see you!
Thank you Hart! I think I am really attached to them. It's so nice to see them grow. I love looking each day and seeing how much they have changed. They like to sit on our hands, climb up our arms, peck at moles and it's also neat to see their little personalities develop! I have some idea of what we could/should have and all are supposed to be females except the silkies and possibly 2-4 others. I know we received four freebies and I also know we've only lost 2. Should be fun!!
Oh, I ordered from Meyers Hatchery in Ohio.
they are so so cute..
