Philodendron Rugosum

Miami, FL(Zone 10a)

Singing in the rain, that's what plants do when it rains.
Striking philo with a very different texture on the leaves
with a corduroy look. Sturdy and easy to mantain.
These leaves are already about 13 inches long

Truly striking! Hey, I'm glad someone else hears their plants 'singing' in the rain. : ) They are never more lovely than after a cleansing rain leaving the leaves with a glistening sheen.

This is a great plant Armando. I was at a nursery the other day and they had P. rugosum growing as a weed underneath their benches! Definately not your standard, under the benches weed if you ask me....

Another Beauty Armando! I sure wish someone would send some rain my way .... I would sing along with my plants! We are so dry here ... chance of a bit of rain tomorrow! Maybe my rain dance will pay off!

So happy Y'all got some rain, Armando! We are still hoping for some today. Yesterday it looked like it rained all around us, but not a drop here .... maybe we will be lucky today or tomorrow. I've been in Florida for 40 years and don't ever remember it being this dry for so long! An article in the newspaper said we haven't had sufficient rainfall since 2005. I'm not sure what the defecit is for us right now, but a week or so they said we were 25" below normal. I've seen photo's of Lake Okeechobee - I can't believe how much rain they need in that area! Some photo's showed an area that was normally 8' of water, just dry cracked clay! Unbelievable! I bet many animals have been displaced from that lack of rain water! It will probably take a long time for that lake to recover. Some people are saying not to worry, that Hurricane Season will be here soon and replenish the water supplies! I just hope we get some Mild Tropical Systems to dump a lot of rain, but I don't want the Canes'!
