I have been looking all spring for Guinea fowl keets, no luck. Tried to order them from small local feed store, Can't or wont order just 10. Made two trips to local places that have guineas, nobody home. Yesterday the fellow who works for me and I made a 15 mile (one way) trip to transfer station. After the pickup was unloaded I stopped at one of the places where I had been before. The fellow was there, no keets, all he had were 5 1-year old males. They were $10.00 ea, but were good looking guys, so I picked out two and he caught them. One was the type called Lavender, of course they are pretty much white, The other somewhat smaller was a crossbreed, darker back and white tummy. We took an old cage with us so came right home with them
I had to leave as soon as got decent clothes on, to go to Senior Center. since I am pres. think I should go to meetings. Anyway left my capable handiperson here in charge of unloading the guineas and fixing a temp. shelter for them in the chicken yard. also he turned the chickens out to free range, and closed the small door between the chicken house and yard. Now I have to train my Lhasa Apso, Blue, to leave them alone which means she has to be on leash everytime outside. Hope it won't take too long before she can be trusted to leave the guineas alone.
I will take a couple of pictures later this morning. I am still hoping to find some keets.

Guinea fowl.
Rutholive, check and see if Ideal Poultry won't let you order only 10 keets. Their minimum order is $25 and they do charge a small order charge, but I was able to order only 10 chicks with no problem.
