Beautiful ... Looks as if it's Glowing!

Armando, whenever you post photo's of your Fabulous Philo's it makes me want to start a collection! You don't just have a green thumb, you have "Green Hands"!! Very Nice Plant, as usual!

edited to say: I really love the looks of the undersides of those leaves, I would have to display that one at a height where you could see that coloration on the undersides too.

PLANTLADYLIN,
You will not regret starting your collection of philos.
Flowers die in a few days bur the shapes, textures and colors
of philos stay forever.
Plus the varieties are enormous.
Go for it
Armando.

Armando:

Do you know of a good source for purchasing Philodendrons? We only have 2 nurseries here in Daytona Beach and they only seem to carry the general outdoor gardening plants, no Philo's. Ocasionally I find a Philo at Home Depot or Lowes, but nothing special!

If you know of company's that have websites, I would greatly appreciate the names! I did have the name of one place on line, but lost the address and can't remember the guy's name. I should have bookmarked it!

Thanks,

Lin

Lin,
It is nice to correspond with people with your same tastes.
I don't know a hell of a lot about philos but don't be afraid
to ask. I will try to help.
Armando.
PS. Steven from MIAMIMAX is my friend and have his small
nursery close to me,I have got quite a few from him already.
they are reasonable and healthy.

Thank You! I inquired with Steve/Miamimax via e-mail a few months ago about a couple I saw on his website. He e-mailed me right back to let me know if the ones I was interested in were available and the cost of postage etc. I never did order because I was in and out of town - but he did have some beauties that I may have to break down and purchase ... gotta get my collection started! I just got a little Philo Pink Princess in the mail today, from a trade with another DG'er. I hope I can get it to root and grow well for me! I have heard that the Pink Princess is a slow grower, so that is fine ... I have a lot of patience with plants! I also got another little one labeled Philodendron Noid, but I'm not sure it's a Philo .... may be some sort of Peperomia that the leaves just look like Philo leaves.

Next time I am down in South Florida visiting my Sister & Brother In Law I'm going to try to make it to a couple of Nurseries down there! Hope I can talk my husband into taking his pickup truck the next time we go. My car is small and his big truck can hold so much more! :)

Thanks again for all your great help Armando! It is nice to chat with people who have the same tastes. I can't imagine anyone not liking your plants .... from the photo's I've seen you post, you have a Glorious Collection!

Have a great Afternoon!

Lin,

I recommend Steve(MiamiMax) as well. I've purchased from him twice last year and both times was well pleased. The plants are still alive and doing well. A friend of mine bought several philos from him years ago and was pleased.

Asiatica is a good source as well. Expensive, but worth it. The plants are well grown and very healthy.

I've not ordered from Brian yet, but intend to.

Glasshouseworks is also an excellent source for Philos. I've ordered several from them and have been well pleased.

Armando's collection is to die for. One day, I hope my collection will be like his! Maybe when I retire and move to south Florida. :)
