Thanks go out to our wonderful Keyring for inspiring me to register for 'Flickr'. She gave me such helpful hints on how to get started with all of this. I have just started uploading some of my photos and now have 72 to view. I love this way to share and enjoy pics past, present, and hopefully many more in the future. If you would care to view them, here they are. You can also view as a slide show if you prefer. Look near the upper right of the page.

I just had to go back and look again! You have enabled me to add even more to my "wish" list! Looking at all your Lovely Plants made me feel like I was in a Botanical Garden! Thank you for sharing!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh my goodness, I have NEVER seen this many beautiful plants in one place!!! You have made my day....those pink foliage episicias are to die for!!!! The only one I might have is 'Sassy Sister' if that is a mini????
Well, let's be honest, I need to cultivate a friendship with you.....(LOL) There is nothing I have found in vendors that look like your collection.....If we can't buy leaves or stolens from you, are we allowed to give you a gift certificate for the vendor of your choice????
Pure envy has set in big time, Snowrose!!
I knew you were a good grower but I had no idea you had such awesome taste in selection of plants!!!
Just seeing these pictures has made MY day!!!
Thanks,
gail

(Zone 1)

You know ... I've gone back at least five times now, just to gaze at Snow's Beautiful Plants! What an Inspiration! You know, even with professional photographs it usually doesn't capture the true beauty .... so, can y'all imagine what they must look like in person?! Oh, Snow .... You DO have a Gorgeous Garden of Gessies! You should make your own Greeting Cards with each of those photo's! If you sold cards, I would sure buy them!

...... I'm going to take another peek!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I am walking out the door, Nancy and Lin, but I had to come back one more time to drool!! Have you EVER seen such plants??? I haven't!!!!
I would love to have notecards made of these....she ought to get in the business of selling notecards....as if she has time!!!
edited to say that now I am drooling over the Av's and the rest!!!!!

Yeah Gail! Note Cards is what I meant when I said Greeting Cards .... blank inside so you could write your own sentiments! They would sell like HotCakes! I would love to have a few boxes of notecards with a different photo of Snow's on the front of each!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

We have to keep bumping up this thread.....so many people may miss the joy!!!!!!

OK.....I have to leave the house now, but I will make my wish list later.....You are too funny, Lin.....I just love it that everyone loves variegated foliage so much......me, too!!!!

Snowrose, your plants are awesome!

I especially like the var. streps. Could you, would you, please share more information about them? Do the leaves stay var. or is there a chance they will revert? Also, where can order them from? Thank you in advance.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

After agonizing over this decision, here is my order list:
STREPS:
Spiritual Corridor
Jason
Bristol Sunset
Ice Canadian Sunset
STANDARDS AND MINIS
Frosted Flames
Champagne Pink trailer
Rob's Bed Bug
Kris
EPISCIAS:

Peridot's Darth Vadar

Now, that was a hard hard job narrowing it down!!! Isn't this fun!!!

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Oh my goodness. There all just so beautiful!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Jan, have you ever seen such a collection of beauties!!!!!!
Just for the fun of it....(and I intend to keep her photos) make a list like Lin and I have done.......it is a joy to see what other people like the most!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Hi all,
Working all day outside. Thanks again for the nicest comments. Now I wish I could fill your plant orders. So sweet.

Lacewing 1 ....I am fond of the variegated streps. I have never known of them reverting. They are grown the same as the green leafed ones but are a bit prettier when not in flower I think. A bit harder to find it seems but may become easier in time. I have some seedlings right now so I'm hoping some of them turn out to be likeable. Even though the seed parent was variegated, not all the seedlings are variegated. Many are though. Do you grow streps? Great addition to any violet or gessie collection.

Drumheller, Alberta, Canada(Zone 3a)

Fantasic work Snowrose! Growing and photography.

I am in love with Ember Lace as well and I am Not a big fan of varigated leaves! LOL
The Bristols Sunset is gorgeous as well as Spiritual Corridor. They have been on my wish list for quite sometime! LOL

Again... GREAT Work!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I have learned how to propagate from AV leaves, divide plants, pot a stolen but now I need to learn how to propagate streps.......I have one blooming right now.....takes my breath away when they do bloom....it is small, but I am going to take a picture right this minute....
Snowrose is teaching us a lot!!!!!!!!!
This is 'Chocolate Soldier'....I love it but when you see Rose's pink foliage on hers, this pales in comparison

Gail, I made a tutorial last year on both leaf and seed starting for Streps - it's pretty easy to prop streps by leaf.

http://flickr.com/photos/begonias-photos/sets/72057594093111273/

And here is the tutorial on seed starting. http://flickr.com/photos/begonias-photos/sets/72057594059053819/

I too am a Flickr Junkie! http://flickr.com/photos/begonias-photos/

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I just wish I knew how to use flickr, begoniacrazii....would (hanging my head in shame) you do a tutorial on learning to use flickr......I can't seem to learn how....
I am extremely grateful for these tutorials you have just listed!!!!!!
It is embarrassing to keep uploading one photo at a time and hijack someone's thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh my goodness, friends......begoniacrazii has given us another show like Snowrose did....don't miss hers!!!!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Gessiegail - Don't be in a quick hurry to cut off your faded strep blossoms. Many times they self pollinate. Simply slide the spent blossom off and you many find an elongated seed pod forming. I have loads of strep seed pods on several plants. As soon as they are ripe, I will offer them to DG folks.

Begoniacrazii - Great tutorials and over 1000 awesome flickr photos! Wow! Fantastic!

Gail, it's been a while since I've signed up for my Flickr account, and maybe Snow can advise you as to how to sign up for one since she's done it recently. But the way I understand it is that Flickr and Yahoo are related companies, you just sign up for a Yahoo account (free) and then you can sign up for your Flickr account (also free, but you have limits to # of photos you can upload each month unless you pay for a PRO account which is about $25 a year - I believe - but dont quote me! )

Then download their 'Uploader' tools and you simply 'drag and drop' your images to the window and click 'upload'. You are allowed to add titles and 'tags' (which are like keywords so others can find your photos) and make notes and comments to both yours and others' images.

It's a lot of good fun and there are 'groups' you can join to upload and share similar interests. For example Keyring, Snow and I belong to the 'Gesneriad' group.

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Here is the Gesneriad 'pool' of photos http://flickr.com/groups/gesneriads/pool/
Snow, please please add some of yours to the pool! Dmail me if you need some help with that!

If you'd like to see some cool Gessies, check out Serge's photo album. We did a leaf trade last year, and he really has an amazing green thumb! http://flickr.com/photos/15701185@N00/ his Cajun Popcorn is TO DIE FOR!!! And imagine that was just a little leaf last year!

(Zone 1)

Oh ....... I have been sitting here for the past hour going through Begoniacrazii's Flickr Photo's .... I am just in Heaven Y'all. Between Snowrose's and now Begoniacrazii's ... I will never get anything done! I could sit here all day and just Aaaaah at these Beauties! Now, I'm off to try and find Serge's album ..... hee hee ......... other things can wait!

Lin

Serge is incredibly talented. His Achimenes are the best I've seen. It was hard to choose a favorite but "Dot" and "Apricot" are simply gorgeous plants.
