How did you get so many flowers are you feeding your cactus anything? This is my cactus collection my Pink Easter lily cactus is 80 years or older the rest came from the large cactus.

I think it likes being pot bound. I do not fertilize my cactus. I also do not remove the pups if I want lots of blooms.

There has been a re-classification of several other species of Echinopsis being combined into Echinopsis oxygona and it's various varieties lately. Your picture here is the short-spined, larger-body variety known as "var. brevispina" for which there is a separate entry page for.

I have a few , of these...My 2 larger ones, should start blooming, in 2011...I have family , who has these...and have many blooms, at one time..but, they, keep 2 or 3 big ones together..mine is really big, now, and has several small pups on it... I am thrilled..as I have many cactus ans succ...my hobby...How tall does this one get? I have been told, about 12 inches...
