New from No. KY

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Hi, got tired of lurking, so I bought a subscription! Have always loved this site. I live on a thirty-acre wooded hillside, shared with (sometimes struggle with!) lots of woodland critters. I love it, but it is definitely a challenge, what with their appetites, and the roots and rocks just below the surface of the ground. Mostly do container gardens. If anyone else has experience in woodland gardening, please feel free to message me! See you at the flower show, right across the river from me--yessss!

Welcome, from a Cincy member!

So happy you signed up!

I missed the big Flower Show this year but I hope you had a great time! One of our cincinnati DGers (Moonlit) won a big prize at the show. Really an honor!

I am not exactly sure where Melbourne is---we are in Anderson Township.

Take care. t.

Welcome from Victoria Harbour, Ontario Canada...looking forward to reading your posts...sure does get addictive...lol...

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Hi, Bettypauze, yes this whole thing is an addictive hobby, isn't it! LOL
Hi, Tabasco--is that as in Mt. Carmel-Tabasco Rd.? I know where that is. I am in Campbell County, downriver from Old Coney Island about five miles. The flower show was great, but it's always soooo tempting to spend too much money! LOL Oh, and it was HOT outside, but definitely worth it. Have you ever been to it?

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

Actually, yes, I live not too far from Mt. Carmel Tobasco Rd. Actually I live off Nordyke bordering Woodland Mound Park. I will have to look on the map for Melbourne. I am always interested in Northern KY areas. My husband would like to live on the KY side of the river.

I visited the garden show in 2005 and 2004. I expect to go next year. I am a member of the Horticultural Society but can't seem to get to the flower show consistently, even though it is so much fun! I am glad you have a good report of the show. And better a bit hot than all that rain from a few years ago (although it seemed to be raining each day this year that I could get over there!)
