A couple hummer photos to share

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

These are already posted on another forum, but I probably should have put them here. We only have the Rufous here, and they first arrived on March 13th. I watched them closely, and learned where their favorite perches were...........and then I waited for them. The end of March, I got lucky, and was able to get these unusual shots.

Wow! .. Some awesome shots there, tigerlily !!

He sure nuff did ... and BIG TIME, to boot! .. heehee

He's got his tail feathers cocked around, his neck feathers really blowed up, with what could be easily perceived as a royal case of agitation most vividly displayed .. in that wing 'point'!
.. LOL .. I luv it!

Almost like he could be saying .. "Get that doggone camera outta my face!" ..

Oh my gosh!!!!! Your photos are awesome, tigerlily!!!! He looks to me like he is saying,"Hit the road, buster!" And he's pointing in the direction he wants you to scram. LOL! Thanks so much for sharing those great shots!!!! :-)

You are so lucky to have this little guy visit your yard! I am truly jealous. One day I hope to be able to share photos of a hummer that has found my yard. Until then, I will live vicariously through all of the folks here who DO get them in their yards and share their photos on this forum!!!

New Matamoras, OH(Zone 6a)

Those are absolutely stunning tigerlily....

Next week my little pain in the asses should start showing up here,,,I'm ready for em.... I have the whole greenhouse full of blooming flowers....They sit in the apple tree every morning waiting for me to get home and open the door.... It's like Dodge City in there as soon as Uncle Dave gets the door open...haa!

I guess the grocery bill is going to start going up a few dollars a week with all the sugar I go through in the summer months....

Dave - LOL! So you give them the run of the green house?! Sorta like going into a candy shop and getting all the free candy you can eat! How many hummers do you usually get?

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

Oh, Becky! I can't even imagine no hummer visits. Do you put out feeders? I'm sad for you!
I'm glad he's not pointing down! hehe!

Thanks all ,for your kind words.

Tigerlily - Yes ..... it is VERY sad. I have friends in my subdivision who get them in their yards and love to tell me ALL about how cute they are! Makes me soooooo jealous. And then of course I have my own family who thinks that hummers don't come to Florida much less into our yard. I have never seen one in real life and neither has anyone in my family. I hope to prove them wrong someday!

Ocean Springs, MS(Zone 8b)

Stunning photo's, I have never seen that kind before.

Thanks for sharing,
