Hello!
My family is in need of your help. They are now down here looking for places to move. However, they are having a lot of problems finding places to view. Does anyone here have realty companies they can suggest? They have been looking at landsoftexas.com but are coming up short and are right now feeling very frustrated and worried about their situation. They only have 45 days before they have to move into a new place. They would love 50 acres or more with a fairly new house, but would be ok with less acreage if the place was decent and relatively close to a good-sized town. Any help would be greatly appreciated. They are really feeling down right now and I desperately want to help them any way I can. If you know of a place that someone is considering selling, that would work too. Realtors they have talked to so far haven't been a great help.
Thanks, Kim
OT: need some help!
I like to poke through ziprealty.com

Thanks!
Kim, 45 days for moving into a new place when it may take up to that much time to close escrow seems like a formula for disaster. To have to make a decision based on one or at most two viewings of a property could lead to major problems later, especially when there are so many things to consider. If they feel pressured to get this done in 45 days, they may not make wise choices. Maybe they can rent something until they find what they really want. It's bound to be out there, but it does take time.
We made dozens and dozens of calls, exchanged e-mail with a number of land agents, as well as made several trips over here before deciding on this ranch. We looked at it at different times of the year before making an offer. My husband wanted something on the river so we pretty much stuck to looking at land up and down the Colorado River.
You mentioned in another thread that they preferred being close to Waco. Are they still tied to that? What concessions are they willing to make to remain close to a "good-sized town?" What is a "good-sized town" in terms of population and facilities? What are the boundries within which they wish to remain?
We viewed a number of properties using Kennedy Properties in Brenham:

We came to this firm indirectly, but eventually bought our ranch through them:

In searching through the internet I came across this site:

http://www.ranchinvestments.com/farms_and_ranches.html
Google the words Land Brokers Texas and you'll get scores of hits. This is what I got:

I'm sorry that I don't know of any that meet their criteria. Our neighbor is selling his 53 acres, but the house is very old and he wants $400,000.00.

Thanks for the links Veronica. My parents have been looking for quite a while, not just this week. But unfortunately until they sold their place, they didn't know what amount they had to work with for purchasing. It isn't the ideal situation, but I think that people seldom are in the ideal situation unless money isn't an issue. And money is an issue for most people. They are considering other options like renting while they look some more, but would rather not have to.

I found out that I was wrong on something as well....it seems they just need to have places of interest by 45 days....so they have more time than I thought. We found some more places of interest with those links....thanks again!
