Hey everyone,
If you are in the South Sound area next weekend, you might want to check out the Olympia Junior League's 15th annual Gift and Garden Event at St. Martin's University (in Lacey). This event features many nurseries from outlying areas selling unique plants as well as a variety of other vendors selling garden art, furnishings, gift items, etc. There will also be outdoor garden exhibits and great food. I will be there most of the weekend and would love to meet any of you!
Here is a photo from last year's event.

OOps - forgot to mention the hours:
Friday, April 27th 10-6
Saturday, April 28th 10-6 and
Sunday, April 29th 11-4.
Different guest speakers will be featured each day - Ed Hume, Marianne Binnetti, Cisco, Erica Guttman from Native Plant Salvage Project, The worm guy from Yelm (can't remember his name) and Michaele Dazell (Perennial Gardener) on container gardening.
Here are some of the beautiful things for sale from last year's show.
Wish I could - there's some mighty intriguing items there!!! Is that you in the second photo?
Nope...that's the creator of the beautiful planters. I'm hiding behind the camera.
Set up day was Thursday. Yesterday morning we opened to not such great weather, but people came out and clammored for the Arbequina olive trees we were selling. They sold out in 45 minutes. Hours today 10-6, tomorrow, 11-4. Today there are a lot of fun things for kids/families to do in addition to some great guest speakers. Come on down!
Here are some photos from the finished exhibits and some nursery booths.
Darn! I thought this was last weekend and that I missed it. to make matters worse, I went right by there Friday! I drove down to the Hulda Klager lilac place to pick up a lilac and could have come on my way home. grrrrrrrrrrr
Gwen
Oh no Gwen. Sorry you missed out! I did a little shopping yesterday and bought a black lace leaf elderberry, Himalayan blue poppy, and three Calluna vulgaris heathers (Red Fred). I had my eye on some pineapple lillies...maybe today, since I have to help out again. This is really taking a toll on my wallet. I have a weakness for good barbecue, so there's that temptation too.
Have a great day!
