I second that. Aoe Aristata or a variety. If it were a Gasteraloe the leaves would probably be smoother and lack teeth on the margins.

Here's a shot of my Gasteraloe ('mostly' Aloe aristata, but definitely also part Gasteria)... looks exactly like yours. Notice the bulbils on the inflorescence? No aloe except one does that (and it's not Aloe aristata). Flowers on this plant are typical of AloexGasterias- robust, very tall, and the flowers are spread out along the stalk a lot like a Gasteria flower is, and each flower is bicolored (pink and pale green). Yet you can see hints of tiny teeth along the margins of the leaves... But Aloe aristata has significantly larger teeth relatively to the leaf size. Additionally, A aristata has 'succulent' almost eliptical leaves in cross section when well watered (and thin, dried out, incurving leaves when not)... this plant of yours looks like a sturdy, solid-leaved plant (consistency of a Gasteria) with, if anything, a flattened or even concave upper leaf surface. Also Aloe aristata ALWAYS has a small white fiber at the end of each leaf. The flowers on A aristata are small and 'head' shaped (not stretched out along the inflorescence as they are in my plant)... and most importantly, perhaps, is Aloe aristata is usually a solitary, to very slow-to-offset plant, while mine is a super aggressive offsetter. Pretty sure that's not Aloe aristata, but a hybrid of it with some unknown species of Gasteria.

Thanks for the info. I have this up for ID in the C&S forum, if I don't get an ID on what the cross is, or cultivar is, then I'll remove the pict.

Hmm, then what Altmans is selling as A. aristata is a Gasteraloe hybrid? My plants look identical to both of yours. And as PB mentioned, offset heavily. I've also had pups on the flower stalks.

Edited to add: Here's a pretty good description of A. aristata that mentions in detail the leaf tip filament that our plants lack. The first picture is wrong howhever, it looks more like Haworthia attenuata.

Also Desert Tropicals lists quite a few Gasteraloes based on A. aristata. No pictures unfortunately. I wonder which one is ours?

These pictures are, I think, of Gastroleas/Gasteraloes. Don't ask me what the difference is between the two. LOL!! They look like my Gastrolea/Gasteraloe x beguinii. Definitely not Aloe aristata; the leaves are too thick.

and the white spots along the leaf margins don't seem to be as concentrated or close together as my my plant photo at the top of this thread.
