Check out the thread in Garden Talk --a lot of people are worrried.
Mising bees
Worried, I am STUNNED, DISHEARTENED & DISILLUSIONED, especially when I read your post the other day when you reported them MIA I felt a shiver go through me. I am not the "shiver" sort

Einstein said that if the bees disappeared, mankind would die off in four years due to the lack of pollination of the crops. To me, this disappearance/die-off is *way* more serious than global warming, as serious as that is.

Tell everyone you know...to STOP using and buying toxic anything...grow and eat organically...the only was we can change the mindset of mass producers who use chemicals and toxins in order to obtain bigger better faster crops, is though the pocketbook...Sorry if I sound radical, but my fellow humans have been much to complacent. Buy fresh and local if you can..spend a few extra pennies for organically grown products...try making food from scratch...it can be done...I don't know why the bees are disapperaing, there are so many theories being tossed around...and most make sense to me...but WE must change THAT which we WISH to CHANGE...don't count on someone else to do it!! Begin with the "man in the mirror"...I am setting up bees, they come May 7th or so...I am trying my best to help this place we live, one garden at a time...peace...
Is there any evidence that hived bees who are raised organically in rural areas and that are free from GMO’s, pesticides, Radio Towers, etc, are doing well? A question worth noting. My hives at 7,000 feet in New Mexico did very well last year. This year they are in Kansas and I lost 75% of them.
Rhett
Oh man, I dunno..who knows, it is a puzzlement...
Yes Rhett, there is evidence. The organic growers are not having the problems with Colony Collapse Disorder.
